Graystar, Sparrowfire, and the others all returned to the camp from the Gathering.

(Hold on one moment...I need to remember who I RP here... XD )

(Okay, I RP...Skyfur, Cherryblossom, Pepperfur, Flightfeather, Jetclaw, Rainfall, Mistpool, Thistletail, Blazepaw, Sparkpaw, Flarepaw, Lightpaw, Brightpaw, Sunnypatch, Streamclaw, Shadekit, and Swiftkit...holy sh- nevermind. That sentence doesn't need to be finished. -_- )
(Methinks I need to get rid of some of these cats...and limit myself to no more than nine or ten. Because that is sheer craziness. How in the world am I supposed to keep up with...*counts*...17 freaking cats?! Jesus, what is wrong with me?!)

(Dogs perhaps?)

(Dogs? What do you mean, dogs? What do dogs have to do with anything...unless you're suggesting that dogs come along and kill off a good seven, eight of my cats...)

Dogtooth flew into camp, her eyes wide with horror. "Dogs!" she yowled. "We're under attack!"

Lightpaw's head shot up, and her eyes widened. "What?!" She cried, horrified.

(I'll have Cherryblossom, Flightfeather, Blazepaw, Flarepaw, Sparkpaw, Jetclaw, Rainfall, Mistpool, Thistletail, Streamclaw, and Sunnypatch die. That will leave me with Skyfur, Lightpaw, Brightpaw, Pepperfur, Swiftkit and Shadekit alive. I'm going to edit them out of the front page right now.)

(Three apprentices dead? Ouch, that'll be a traumatic loss for the Clan)

Graystar leaped off of the Highrock where she had been standing. "How many?" she demanded as Sparrowfire joined her.

"A pack of them!" Dogtooth replied, the young she-cat's eyes wide with horror. "At least five!"

(Yes, and a lot of warriors gone too.)

Brightpaw joined her sister's side. The two she-cats stared at the leader and deputy.

Pepperfur lashed her tail and went up to the three cats. "We need to defend the camp!" She yowled.

And just at that moment, there was a ear-splitting shriek of pain from just outside the camp, and it was abruptly cut off. The cry had belonged to Sunnypatch.

Without warning, Pepperfur darted off toward the sound, fur bristling as she prayed to StarClan nothing bad had happened to the queen.

"Apprentices, move to the nursery, now," Graystar ordered instantly. "Warriors, form a wall and defend the camp!"

Lightpaw and Brightpaw moved toward the nursery, but Lightpaw suddenly stopped half-way, her eyes widening in horror. "But Sparkpaw, Flarepaw, and Blazepaw are all out on their warrior assessments!" She cried, "What about them?"

Pepperfur tore her way out of camp toward the sound of Sunnypatch's cry, and suddenly halted abruptly in horror. There, laying at the base of a tree, was the young queen. Blood spattered her fur, and her body was marred by wounds. She was already dead.
"No," Pepperfur whispered in horror, "that can't be...she has kits..." shaking her head, the she-cat bounded back toward camp, bursting inside with a howl of, "Sunnypatch is dead!"

Graystar bristled. It was true. There were three appretnices out on assessment. And now Sunnypatch.

"Sparrowfire, you're in charge," she hissed. "I'm going to find the apprentices and their mentors."

The deputy's eyes widened in horror. "Graystar, you can't go alone!" she replied.

"The Clan needs as many warriors left here as possible," the leader replied, her eyes insistent. "I won't weaken the camp's defense by taking any other warriors with me. That's an order, Sparrowfire."

Sparrowfire growled in annoyance as the leader left the camp alone at a sprint.

Out in the territory, Cherryblossom lay on her side, panting harshly. Blood spattered her pelt, and she felt herself slipping with each breath. She knew she was dying. The dogs had come out of nowhere at her, and the only thing she had enough time to do was to yowl at Blazepaw to flee. She hoped her apprentice was safe.

The three brothers, Flarepaw, Blazepaw, and Sparkpaw, were all cowering as three of the dogs stalked toward them, eyes wild and their teeth bared. And then the dogs lunged, attacking the three apprentices head on.

(Hmm,, Pepperfur is Flarepaw's mentor. XD Just pretend she was out there the entire time with him.)

Graystar screeched in fury and leaped at the three dogs that were attacking the apprentices. She knew she wasn't likely to make it, she only had three lives left, but the Clan needed the apprentices more.
