Ryan, Serenity, and Ariana Blackthorn walked through Diagon Alley, excited about the new school year, Ariana in particular as it was her first year.

Ariana was practically leaping with excitement as they walked down the street.

Rose, Lily, and Rowan Hawthorne were walking through Diagon Alley.

Serenity nudged her brother when she saw her fellow Ravenclaw's and their older Gryffindor sister. "Lily! Rowan!" she called,

Lily grinned. "Hi!" She called back excitedly.

Rowan gave small smirk. "Greetings, fellow Ravenclaw's," he said in a dramatic tone, and gave them a mock salute.

Rose rolled her eyes.

Ryan and Serenity grinned, and ran over to their friends, Ariana trailing after them. "Wait for me!" she yelled.
"It's great to see you again," Serenity said with a grin.

"Yes, indeed, it is!" Rowan replied in the same dramatic tone.

Lily poked her brother in the ribs.

"Hey! What'd you do that for?" Rowan yelped, taking a step away.

"'Cause you looked and sounded like a fool," Lily responded.

"You're so harsh, dear little sister!" Rowan cried, mock-crying.

"Don't call me little!" Lily growled. She hated being called little, small, tiny, etc.

"That's not what I meant by little!" Rowan protested.

Rose face-palmed. "My family is just a bunch of idiots," she groaned.

"Then how did they make Ravenclaw?" Serenity retorted, defending her best friend and her former crush.

Ryan was grinning, and Ariana was laughing.

"That is beyond my knowledge," Rose mumbled.

Rowan and Lily started bickering in the background.

"Sometimes I think those two were adopted," Rose growled. "It's embarrassing to be seen with them sometimes."

"I know what you mean," Katherine agreed, walking over with her fourteen year old brother, Jake.
"Oh, come on Kitty, this morning was a joke!" Jake insisted.

"Hey," Rose greeted Katherine, grinning.

Lily turned to the two newcomers. "Hey, Jake! How was your summer?"

Rowan mock-saluted the two of them, grinning manically.

(Lily likes Jake, just so ya know.)

"Hi Lily!" Jake said with a grin. "It was great, how was yours?"

"Rowan, with that attitude, you will never get a girlfriend," Katherine told him, dead serious.

Lily grinned. "Great!" She replied.

Rowan's eyes widened comically. "What?" He said, "But the ladies love guys who act like Lily on a sugar-high, don't they?" His voice was anything but serious.

Lily turned to glare. "Are you implying that I am anything like you?" She asked, tone threatening.

"Only when you've consumed five cans of soda in one sitting, dear sister." Was Rowan's response.

Rose shook her head and looked at Ryan. "How can you stand this over-dramatic fool?" Se asked seriously, indicating to Rowan.

Jake began to laugh, and Ryan simply beamed. "Simple, he's my best friend!"

Ariana was grinning, as was Serenity.

Lily growled. "That only happened once!" She said defensively.

Rowan laughed. "Sure. You keep telling yourself that, little sister."

Lily's eyes narrowed. "Don't. Call. Me. Little!" She yelled, attracting several strange looks from people passing by. The only person who could make the youngest Hawthorne lose her cool like that was her brother. Or anyone who commented on her smaller-than-average size.

Rowan grinned. "Little girl!" He crowed at Lily.

"I am going to strangle you!" Lily shrieked and lunged for him.

Rose held her back. "If you two don't start acting your age, I'll strangle both of you!"

Then a three-way sibling war started, with Lily trying to wrap her hands around Rowan's throat, Rose trying to restrain Lily, and Rowan just standing there laughing manically.

(Heh, heh. What a colourful group of siblings I've created.)

"Well well well, look who's here," sneered a disdainful voice. Aphrodite Ryans, a fourth year Slytherin girl, was walking towards them.

"Not you," Serenity groaned. She despised the blond.

Lily, Rose, and Rowan all turned to look at Aphrodite.

Rose scoffed at the Slytherin girl's mere appearance.

Rowan stopped laughing and gave her an uncharacteristically cold look.

Lily outright scowled. "What do you want, Slytherin scum?" She snapped. She had hated this girl since day one. She didn't bother hiding it.

(What's the blood status of the Hawthorns? Pure, half, muggle born?)

Aphrodite rolled her eyes. "To get past you. You're blocking the way to Madam Malkin's with your rabble, Hawthorn."

Ariana looked up at her siblings. "Hey, that reminds me, mum said for you two to take me to Madam Malkin's for my robes!"

The three Hawthorne's stepped aside.

"There. Happy, Ryans?" Lily said, glaring at her.

Aphrodite scoffed. "Hardly. Hmph! Associating with half-bloods. What is teh wizarding world coming to?" she muttered as she stalked past them to the robe store.

"Stupid blond pure-blood," Serenity snarled as she left. "Thinking she can puch the rest of us around."

"Don't let her get to you so much, Ren," Ryan told her.

"Yeah," Jake agreed. "She's just a bit-"

"Jake!" Katherine scolded, smacking him on the head. "Watch your language!"

"Bitch," Lily said after Aphrodite, loud enough for her to hear.

"I'd scold you for saying that," Rose said, "If it wasn't true."

Rowan laughed. "Good, cause that'd be awfully hypocritical of you, Rose. We all know how unladylike you are when you get riled up."

"Shut it, Rowan. I don't need to be told that I have foul-mouth. Especially not by my younger brother." Rose said, giving him a glare from narrowed blue eyes.
