Shadestar surveyed his Clan.

Rosethorn was padding toward her den, a bundle of herbs in her jaws.

Applefur and Dustpaw were heading toward the camp exit.

Blackshadow ate a mouse by the fresh-kill pile.

Cedartail was sitting just outside the elders' den.

"Hello Blackshadow," Skywing meowed. Stormheart nodded to the tom, his eyes drifting after Applefur.

(I'm thinking of making new characters. If I do, it'll be after I wash the dishes, which may take a little while. Be back in ten, assuming you'll still be here.)

(Alright.)

"Hey, Skywing, Stormheart," Blackshadow meowed, flicking his tail.

Applefur and Dustpaw left camp. (I'll be taking this to the territory.)

"How are you?" Skywing asked, prodding her brother and bringing him back to the real world.

"Fine," the black tom purred. "What about you?"

"I'm good," she replied.

Stormheart zoned out again.

"In fact, I think I'm better than my brother here is," she mewed, prodding him again.

Blackshadow purred in amusement. "Thinking about Applefur again, eh, Stormheart?"

"Maybe," he muttered, looking down in an effort to hide his embarassment.

Skywing purred in amusement.

"Well, good luck with that. Applefur's the prickliest she-cat I've ever known." Blackshadow meowed. "She and Rosethorn should switch names! It'd be more fitting."

Stormheart's head shot up quick as a lightningbolt. "Don't say that about her!" he snarled. "Applefur is amazing! She's perfect just the way she is!"

Blackshadow's eyes narrowed. "I was kidding," he said warningly, "Calm down."

Skywing purred. "I'd say we just got our proof that Stormheart here is in love!"

Blackshadow snickered in amusement. "Yes, I'd say so too!"

Applefur chose that moment to return, Dustpaw shortly after her, both carrying fresh-kill. (I decided to skip the hunting in the territory. Too lazy.)

(OK. And I hope I can beat that eventually.)

Stormheart snorted and stood, stretching, then padded over to greet Applefur.

Skywing purred. "So, how long do you think it will be before he confesses his feelings to her? If ever."

(You never will! )

Applefur looked at Stormheart as he approached. "Hello, Stormheart," she meowed briskly.

Blackshadow looked thoughtful. "I guess it depends on if Applefur doesn't claw his ears off for getting 'too close' first." His tail flicked in amusement. "Or if Rosethorn doesn't do it for her. Those sisters are very close and protective to each other. I don't think Rosethorn would like it very much if Stormheart tried to 'corrupt' her precious sister."

"Very true," Skywing purred in amusement, flicking her tail as Lightheart and Blacktail padded over.

"Discussing Stormheart's love for Applefur?" Blacktail asked.

"Yup," Skywing replied.

Blackshadow''s tail twitched. "He thinks she's perfect just the way she is."

Skywing nodded. "He's totally in love with her."

Blackshadow sobered. "But I really do feel a bit sorry for him," he meowed, "Applefur is, by far, the most short-tempered, sharp-tongued, prickly she-cat in the Clan."
